Founder, STET Communications

His clients have included Vice President Joe Biden, U.S. Senators, candidates and campaigns across the country, CEOs of major corporations, executives at advocacy and trade organizations, nationally-recognized thought leaders, best-selling authors, and private citizens.

Andy began his career working with satirist-turned-politician Al Franken on best-selling books, a national radio show, and a successful Senate campaign. After Franken’s victory, Andy was named chief speechwriter for Senator Chris Dodd, working alongside the veteran legislator as he led the fight for passage of landmark health care and financial reform. He then joined Well & Lighthouse, a boutique new media firm in Washington, where he launched a speechwriting practice and served as creative director and senior communications strategist for the firm’s digital clients.

In 2013, Andy founded STET Communications, where he continues to work with a wide variety of clients on an even wider variety of projects: keynote speeches, commencement addresses, op-eds, journal articles, fundraising materials, internal communications, and even the occasional roast. He has also partnered with clients on five New York Times best-sellers, including three that debuted at #1.

Andy was a member of the Democratic National Convention speechwriting team in 2012, 2016, and 2020. He has led workshops on writing and persuasion at SXSW Interactive and served as an Adjunct Member of the Faculty at George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs, teaching a graduate-level course on speechwriting.
